The Law 
The natural as well as the moral law have been appointed by God and are an expression of His character. Both are closely connected parts of a whole. If any point of the law is transgressed, it has an effect on everything else. At first glance, the law looks like a list of commands and prohibitions. But if we have it in our hearts, it makes us free, resulting in life, peace, and a knowledge of God.
